About North Carolina Trucking Association

The North Carolina Trucking Association is committed to safety on our state's highways. With over 500 companies, NCTA represents the unified trucking industry of North Carolina.

As an industry, trucking is a vital part of our state's economy. We carry millions of dollars worth of cargo every day, and service every community in the state. Many communities in North Carolina are served exclusively by trucks, and couldn't exist without the trucking industry.

Our main focus is keeping our state moving, while keeping our roads and highways safe. We have ongoing safety initiatives, and work closely with government agencies to ensure that our state's truck drivers are safe and courteous. For more information about our safety programs, visit the safety section of this site.

If you represent a trucking company or a business that works closely with the trucking industry, and are interested in joining NCTA, please contact us. We offer our members many valuable benefits, as well as a community of trucking companies working toward a common goal.

In 1994 the NCTA Executive Committee approved the establishment of a non-profit educational and training foundation to be known as the North Carolina Trucking Association Foundation. At the request of then-NCTA Chairman of the Board David W. Royster, III of Royster Transport, Palmer E. Huffstetler of Carolina Freight Corporation, L. Duane Long of Long Transportation Services (now Longistics), and John Youngblood of Youngblood Truck Lines were asked to serve as incorporators of the Foundation and as the initial Board of Directors. Succeeding Duane Long after his many years of service as Chairman, Grover Ezzell of Ezzell Trucking now leads the Foundation.

The NCTA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to promoting highway safety as it relates to the trucking industry. Among its activities is providing the financial support needed to operate the North Carolina Road Team.

Tax-deductible contributions to the NCTA Foundation are always needed and very much appreciated. Donations can be either from an individual or a business. Contributions can be made payable and mailed to:
